This topic will be over some of the General safety rules we use in Airsoft. Feel free to add or correct anything.
1.Eye protection. This rule is the first and most basic one. As we all should know this is a contact sport. We have tiny plastic projectiles flying at high FPS all over, if any hits you dead in the eye game over.
So bring something to protect your eyes. Masks, Safety glasses, and Goggles will suffice.
2. Hits. This sport is about Military Engagement Simulation. The BB's are like bullets and shrapnel. If you receive a direct hit to any part of you body, excluding hands and feet, your are dead or out. Grazes don't count. For saftey reasons try to aim low or towards something the player has protected. Ex. the chest if wearing a vest.
NEVER INTENTIONALLY AIM FOR THE FACE.
When you are hit Yell out "Hit", "Down", "Out", or "Dead" raise your hands and gun and walk out. If you have a dead rag use it. Don't shoot people who are out. Don't shoot at people if you are out either.
3.Bang Rule. This rule is for most player safety. If you surprise an enemy or sneak up on him just say "bang" Don't shoot. Your weapon must be pointed at him and he must be unaware or have weapon down. This can only be used within 20 ft. Any further shoot them or keep sneaking to "Bang" kill him.
4.Your feet. Always as a must wear something to protect your feet. Boots or thick heel shoes. just wear something that will protect against nails or glass. Most of the fields are not entirely cleaned up. Also watch your step. You never know when the terrain will change.
5. Injury or Accident. Unfortunately all safety precautions will not always prevent a problem. If an Injury or Accident should occur. NO MATTER THE CIRCUMSTANCES stop shooting and yell "Cease Fire!". If you hear this yell it out as well. Make sure every player knows the game has stopped and do whatever is necessary to help the player. Call 911, give water, take home, hospital, Ect.
(Feel free to add anything else.)
Remember Gentlemen that safety is our number one concern. If we lose a player not only do we lose a good woman/man but we can receive backlash and lose the field forever. So safety must be practiced at all times.
